Changes in the living room…….

 

I have been working on some changes in my living room for a couple of months.

I haven’t shared any pictures because I was waiting for the perfect

sunny day when the lighting is just right.

Yesterday I realized that there is never going to be the perfect day……

Memorial Day

This memorial is

a remembering spot

a place to sit

and bend my head.

I think of those

I never knew

who once played ball

who now lie dead.

For just like me

all soldiers lived.

They loved their moms.

They shoveled snow.

But when our country

cried for help

they kissed their moms.

They packed to go.

I run my fingers

through the grass.

It’s quiet here.

A new ironstone find for the master bathroom……..

 

A few weeks ago I came across an antique chamber pot at an antique shop. The price was really good since the lid had a crack however I couldn’t think of a spot for it so I passed on it. A few days later when I was in the bathroom taking a shower little Miss Gracie discovered how fun it is to dig in the trash and rip it into itsy bitsy pieces! That’s when it occurred to me that the ironstone chamber pot would be the perfect solution since it has a lid.Thankfully when I went back they still had it and the size was just perfect for next to the toity!

The lid has a crack and has been glued but I really don’t mind the imperfection. Isn’t the little handle on top adorable?

 

Looking from the master bathroom into the bedroom…..you can see the bathroom in the reflection of the mirror.

A new little find…..

 

I found this adorable little stool over the weekend

for $10 at antique shop.

 

It has great patina…..adore the weathered wood!

I haven’t decided where it will end up for sure,

but for now it  has found a spot next to the armoire.

Aren’t these concrete dogs just the cutest thing?

I have never seen any like them before…..

Adding a little bling to antlers……..

 

The other day while looking for the outside

trim paint I came across a can of metallic silver paint

I had used on a project months ago.

I thought to myself there surely must be something I

can use the leftover paint on?!?!!?

So, I painted some antlers!

It was a quick project that only took

a few minutes and cost

nothing since I had all the items on hand.
